1. I need another copy of my certificate. How can I get one?

If you have lost your certificate or it contains incorrect information, you may contact a customer support representative at 1-800-990-0913 to request a certificate reprint.

2. What certificate delivery options do I have?

We offer various delivery options. Your course tuition includes regular mailing of your certificate. All completion certificates are sent via first class mail. You can expect to receive your certificate within 5 to 7 business days (Probably sooner). If your deadline is approaching fast, or you would like an added measure of security, Express Delivery is available for an additional charge. Overnight Morning delivery costs an additional $34.95 and will be delivered the next business day before 12 PM. Overnight delivery costs an additional $27.95 and will be delivered the next business day before 5 PM. Two-day express delivery costs an additional $20.00 and will be delivered the second business day before 5 PM. If you live in a rural area, delivery delays may occur.

3. How long does it take for my certificate to be delivered?

Our certificates are processed daily. Users completing after 3 PM will be processed the following business day. We ask you to allow 3-5 business days for delivery. Premium delivery services are available for an additional fee.

4. My certificate is due today. Can I still take your course?

Time allowed for completion of courses and deadlines for submitting certificates of completion vary from court to court. We urge you to contact your court for this information regarding extensions to avoid taking this course and not receiving credit from the court.

5. Will the court grant me an extension of my due date?

Some courts will grant you an extension. You need to contact your court by phone or in person to make your request

6. How much time will the court grant me to complete the course?

Most courts will give you 60 to 90 days to complete traffic school. But don't keep putting it off! Sign up now and get it done!

7. I'm not sure if I'm eligible to take this course. How do I find out?

States have different regulatory agencies that approve the course. These regulatory agencies have different rules on how often you can take driving education courses and the purpose of the courses can vary from state to state or court to court (insurance reduction, point reduction, etc.). When you register for this course, this site will tell you whether the course is approved in your state or court. However, you should ALWAYS verify with your state or court before completing a driving safety course. Just be sure to take care of it BEFORE your

8. How do I know if I am eligible to take this course?

If your court provided you with a list of court-approved Home Study Traffic School courses and our name, 'National Traffic School' appears on that list then you are eligible to take this course

9. I went to traffic school within the last 18 months. Can I take it again?

The California Vehicle Code says you may only attend traffic school once every 18 months. The 18 months is calculated from the date that the first citation was issued. It is your responsibility to confirm that you are eligible to attend. However, the Vehicle Code also says that you may attend traffic school twice within 18 months if you get special permission from a judge. (Vehicle Code 41501)

11. Didn't I already pay for traffic school through the court?

The $29 (usually) fee you paid the court was an administrative fee to process your records. It is not your tuition for the course.

14. How does the course work?

It's very simple. All you do is read the text and take a short quiz after each chapter. Then you take our simple final exam. You pay for the course AFTER sampling the first chapter for free.

15. What if I don't have my own computer or I am temporarily away from my computer?

You can complete our program using a computer at your local public library, at school, a cyber-cafe, at work (if your employer is agreeable) or at the home of a friend or relative. While this is a home study program, many people are on the move and use different systems. This course can be accessed by most available browsers, but optimal performance will be achieved with the most recent versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla or Netscape.

16. What are the security inserts and security questions?

There are about 40 short phrases scattered throughout the text that have nothing to do with traffic safety. All you need to do is write them down on a piece of paper and use them to answer the security questions in the final exam. This is how we make sure that you have read through the entire course.

17. Can I review the course material while I'm answering test questions?

Absolutely! All course material should be reviewed before testing, of course. You can review each chapter by saving the chapter links to your desktop. Then you can pull up a separate window with course material specific to the questions you are answering.

The length of the final exam may vary and is determined by the state and county that issued your violation. The typical final is 25 questions, but could be longer depending on your state's requirements.

This is the number the court uses to identify your specific violation. In some courts, it is the same as the number on your citation. The number is generally located on your paperwork and/or court receipt. Take special care to enter this number correctly when you register for the course

27. What is the course completion policy?

You must complete all phases of the approved curriculum in order to receive a certificate of completion. National Traffic School is prohibited from issuing a certificate of completion to any student who has not met all the requirements for course completion.

A full refund will be made to any student who cancels the enrollment contract prior to attempting the final examination. All refunds will be completed within 30 days after the effective date of enrollment termination.

29. What is the testing and grading policy?


Each chapter contains a quiz that reviews important content from that chapter. The number of quizzes and quiz questions varies depending on your course. The quizzes do not affect your final exam score but will provide you with and excellent opportunity to master the course material. You also must take and pass a final exam upon completion of the course. Note some courts require proctored final exams.

30. What is the operation and conduct policy?

No credit or completion will be given if the course is completed by anyone other than you or if you are assisted by an outside party. When you enroll in the course, you are stating under penalty of perjury that you, and not another person, studied the material in its entirety and completed the chapter quizzes and the final exam. By registering for the course, you understand that is may be a felony to make false statements or to falsify documents submitted by the court.

33. Do I need to save my work?

Your registration and payment information are automatically saved. You must finish each chapter quiz completely in order to receive credit for that chapter. Simply log in using your driver's license and password, and we automatically keep track of the course work completed The next time you log in, you can pick up where you left off.

35. What if I don't have my own e-mail address?

An email address is required to take our course in California. We send confirmation that you passed the course via e-mail. You will be notified that you have passed the course while you are still inside the course but the confirmation will be e-mailed to you. If you don't have an e-mail address, there are several companies that will provide you with a free e-mail account (e.g. www.hotmail.com or www.yahoo.com). It will only take a few minutes to sign up for free e-mail and you can access these accounts at your convenience.

36. What if my computer freezes or I lose my connection in the middle of the course?

Don't worry, the course will keep track of where you left off, whether you signed off voluntarily or it was an accidental disconnection

If the pages for our site are not loading completely, you may want to disconnect your internet connection and log back in. This type of problem is typically caused by your Internet Service Provider or ISP and web traffic. If you continue to experience problems, we recommend disconnecting and returning at a later time to complete the course when internet traffic is not as heavy.
